Brazil carried the cup at the just finished U20 World Cup competition hosted by Colombia for the 5th time since the inception of the competition in 1977. The first country to win the competition was the then UdSSR. Brazil won the cup for the first time in 1983 and won it again in 1985 consecutively.
Going by the history, on the tournament, Brazil has not been close to winning the tournament in the last three competitions. The U20 WC which took place in 2011 is another year for the Brazilians after the last win at the 2003 edition of the game in United Arab Emirate.
It must be said that Ghana won the tournament in 2009 against Brazil at the final. And this could be the reason why their gaze was on the cup in this edition. And lo and behold, Brazil won its 5th U20 WC.
